Te Anau
Trips and Tramps is based in the attractive lake side town of Te Anau the gateway to Fiordland, New Zealand's largest National Park, and world heritage area. Situated alongside the largest
lake in the South Island, Te Anau is bordered by towering mountains and lush forest. The town, with a permanent population of 3500 provides a full range of services and activities to visitors, so there are plenty of things to do while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and picturesque surroundings. Plus it is the closest base to Milford Sound.

Fiordland

Fiordland is a land of lofty, snow-capped Mountains, cloaked with dense and ancient forests, of glaciated valleys, exquisite lakes, crystal rivers and the classic coastal fiords of which Milford is the most spectacular.
